About Baba Fasegun and Iya Fayomi

Baba Fasegun: Oluwo Falokun Fasegun also known as Sifu Earl White, affectionately called Baba by his family and Omos, has been involved in the study of African Spirituality for over 30 years, and Martial Arts for over 40 years. Sifu Fasegun holds an 8 th Degree Black Belt. He was initiated as a Babalawo and a Priest of Ogun in the village of Ode Remo, Nigeria. One of Baba’s main focuses has been exploring the martial/protection aspects found in various areas of Ifa & African Culture, e.g. the Oriki, Odu, Oogun, Ijala, music, and dance.

Currently he provides spiritual counsel to the Ifa community of Los Angeles, CA through his Spiritual House, Ile Orunmila Afedefeyo and he runs the Ijo Ija Martial Arts Academy. He has developed his own expression of martial arts, called Ijo Ija, which blends the Chinese, Filipino, and African Martial Arts & Warrior Dances. He has been published in several academic journals, including ‘Martial Arts of the World Volume 2’. Baba has also appeared on countless radio shows, television programs, and university panels discussing African Martial Arts, the Ifa Spiritual System, and how the arts are practiced worldwide. He has narrated CDs on Ifa, for everyone from the novice to the highly trained Priest.

Sifu Baba has been happily married for over 30 years and is the proud father of 3 magnificent children, and 6 beautiful grandchildren.

Iya Fayomi: In her personal life Trifari Williams aka Iya Fayomi Osundoyin Egbeyemi, has been a practitioner of African Traditional Religion (ATR) her entire life.  As a young girl she studied under the tutelage of Iya Luisa Teish.

In the spring of 2007 the Oba, Awo Bolu Fatunmise, initiated her into the mysteries of Ifa.  One year after her first initiation she became a Priestess of Osun in the epicenter of Ifa Tradition, Ile Ife, Nigeria.  Most recently she was initiated into Egbe and Kori, in Ode Remo, focusing her priesthood on the healing work of women, and fertility. She currently serves as Head Priestess and provides spiritual counsel to the Ifa community through her Spiritual House, Ile Orunmila Afedefeyo, in Los Angeles, CA.

Trifari was born to a Chicana mother and an African (American) father, who raised her to be firmly rooted in her ancestral traditions.  As a woman who identifies as African-Mexican she has seen the world through a lens that is deeply rooted in rich culture and also makes her acutely aware of the black and brown experience in the US.

Trifari’s goal is to bring authenticity to every project she’s involved in and represent the underrepresented.   Trifari always aims to bring her passion for producing and her deep love of spiritual healing to every project she does.
