Episode 3: Community as Reflection—Honoring the Collective

In this episode, I introduce the Community Spotlight Series, a dedicated discussion on the 3rd Friday of each month where we highlight individuals and organizations doing impactful work. But before diving into specific spotlights, we explore a fundamental question: What is community?
Drawing from the Yorùbá/Ifá concept of “Ẹgbẹ́”, we examine how communities serve as mirrors for humanity, reflecting our shared values, struggles, and growth. I also unpack the widespread use of the term “tribe”, addressing its popular appeal and deeper implications.
Beyond external communities, I invite you to consider a more intimate perspective: our individual bodies as a community in themselves. What can we learn from the way our cells, organs, and systems work together? How does this understanding shift the way we engage with others?
Join me in this rich conversation as we redefine community, explore its sacred nature, and honor the interconnectedness that shapes our existence.
